IRS changes gears with new mileage rate July 1, 2022
Due to rampant inflation in 2022, IRS has, beginning July 1, 2022, changed the optional standard mileage rates as follows: 62.5 cents per mile for business use of an automobile and 22 cents per mile for costs of using an automobile as a medical or moving expense.
Beginning July 1, 2022:
62.5 cents/mile (business miles driven)
22 cents/mile driven (medical or moving)
14 cents/mile driven (in service to charitable organizations)
